About Us

Larry D. Hilsmier, Jr., CPA, is the Founder and Managing Partner of Hilsmier & Associates, a full service CPA firm licensed in Georgia and located in Atlanta. Larry serves the tax, accounting, QuickBooks, and CFO-level needs of numerous small and mid-sized business owners and individual taxpayers in and around Atlanta, GA, including Dunwoody, Norcross, Sandy Springs, and Peachtree Corners. Hilsmier and Associates is committed to building partnerships, not just churning out tax returns.

For corporate clients, Larry is known as the “go-to” accounting guy who can handle just about anything you throw at him, from cash flow help to entity formation to QuickBooks support. His experience includes a broad range of industries with emphasis in financial, consulting and professional services, construction, real estate, manufacturing, distributors, automobile dealerships, and retailers and restaurants.

For tax clients, Larry creates an income tax projection that includes an in-depth review and tax analysis for their individual and business financial needs. This analysis lets clients know where their business and personal assets stand at risk today – and helps prevent losses for tomorrow. It’s also designed to assist clients in paying the least amount of taxes required by law.

Larry has served as a Controller and Senior Finance Director for both small and large firms, where he gained experience in process and profit improvement, financial reporting, taxes, budgeting, and public company disclosure work. Early in his career, he worked as a Senior Auditor for KPMG, one of the largest accounting firms in the world.

Larry is a community leader who gives back by mentoring youth through his work with Boy Scouts of America. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Honors Accounting and Finance.

When he is not working or volunteering, he enjoys participating in community and professional events, attending church activities and playing with his three children.
